Ministries

Our ministries are as varied as the needs of the population we serve. We care for the sick and dying in their own homes; participate in the common pastoral ministries of the local church; instuct nurses and doctors in palliative care and provide home support for those who are caring for the sick and the dying in their own homes.

Working in tandem with SOS Albania and the Malta Hospice Movement, we seek to establish a hospice care programme in Albania, and are engaged in the normal life cycles of birth and death among our people.

In an area subject to sudden uprisings and conflict, we also participate in the local emergencies, whether that be supporting refugees from Kosova, or caring for those who have been displaced by other political pressures.

The men women and children of Albania  - citizens of the poorest country in Europe - deserve the best we can give them,  and our  work as sisters of the Albanian community of  the Little Company of  Mary will continue for as long as we can serve a function or contribute to  the  development of  the community in which we serve.

Our task is not to create dependency,  but to support the on-going development of the Albanian people in their struggle  to achieve the rights due to them as human beings.

As religious women, we are committed  to  support those endeavours which lead to the development of resources for the  common good. Equally, we concern ourselves with the right of every human person  to the  respect and dignity due to them as sons and daughters of God.(viz. CCC  1911 ff.)
